Cara was a new patient to the Medi Tresse Worcester, MA office. Her hair loss started approximately 5 years ago. Her main concern was the appearance of her hair as her hair loss has progressed.
In the past, Cara had tried over the counter minoxidil, low level laser therapy, and various supplements. However, Cara felt that her hair loss continued to get worse while utilizing these treatments. After her initial consultation Cara was diagnosed with androgenic alopecia, which is also known as Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL).Â
Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) stands as the most prevalent culprit behind the diminishing thickness and density of hair among women. This condition leads to hair follicle miniaturization, a process where the follicles narrow. This causes them to yield finer and weaker strands of hair that are prone to breakage and eventual loss. In the absence of intervention, each affected strand shrinks progressively. It can become barely visible, resulting in a noticeable reduction in overall hair density.
Understanding the nuances of FPHL is essential for those experiencing this form of hair loss, and recognizing the early signs can be critical for seeking treatment to counteract the progression and preserve hair health.
With all of our treatments, we have three main goals: stop further loss, make the hair you have thicker, healthier, and if possible regrow hair. We like to remind all of our patients that attaining any of these goals is a success.
After discussing the patient’s goals and expectations, Cara and the Medi Tresse team decided that the best treatment plan for her would be three treatments of Painless Optimal Platelet Concentration™ Therapy and hair loss supplements.
Painless OPCâ„¢ Therapy is a non-invasive and pain free version of our Optimal Platelet Concentrationâ„¢ Therapy. While this treatment is similar to Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, it is taken one step further as the treatment is customized to the patient based on their platelet count the day of treatment. OPC utilizes a medical device that transforms the final PRP concentration into powerful mist jet streams. These streams infuse into the scalp through hydroporation, rather than using needles to inject into the scalp. Painless OPC treatments are 100% non-invasive and pain free.Â
In addition to Painless Optimal Platelet Concentrationâ„¢ Therapy, Cara has also been utilizing hair loss supplements as a part of her treatment plan. Proper hair loss supplements are key for any hair loss treatment plan to ensure that the hair follicles are receiving the key nutrients and vitamins needed for healthy hair growht.
Painless Optimal Platelet Concentrationâ„¢ Therapy are available at the following Medi Tresse locations: Boston, Worcester, Westchester, New York City offices, and the Chattanooga office.
Cara had three initial treatments of Painless OPC Therapy at the Worcester, MA Medi Tresse office. All three treatments were four weeks apart. Cara also had a booster treatment 6 months after last treatment. Over the course of the year, she has seen significant hair regrowth results.
Cara is very happy with her current results and will continue with her treatment plan. This includes booster Painless OPC treatments every 6 months.
